The African Queen Wreck reveals more!

Our first dive to the African Queen this season revealed some nice surprises. Diver Bobby Wentz discovered within some newly exposed areas of the wreck, a 30 pound solid brass deck flood light. This awesome find was in amazing condition for a 50+ year soak underwater and cleaned up really nice!

Becoming a Divemaster is the first step along the path of being a dive professional. As a Divemaster, you can lead dives, assist with training courses, and work on a dive boat. Our "On Board" Divemaster trainingcourse will get you ahead in your goal of being a dive professional and provide you with actual experience in the dive industry.

The program consists of four days of diving off our boat alongside our crew, as well as some additional confined water sessions. You DO NOT have to do all four days in a row; you can do them on your schedule within the dive season. Each of the four days you are on the boat, you will be asked to complete portions of the PADI Divemaster Certificationpractical application workshops, assessments, and other assignments.

Our goal is to make getting scuba certified easy and fun! We understand that a long, drawn out scuba class isn't for everyone, and most people don't need it. Our one day classes are designed to get you the best scuba training efficiently and maximize the use of your time. We will provide all the SCUBA equipment as well as a mask & fins for you to use.

At the end of the course you will have completed the classroom component (via online E-Learning) as well as the pool confined water component of the PADI Open Water Course. You will receive a signed referral so you can complete the final Open Water Checkout Dives with us on our boat or wherever else you wish.

What Can You See SCUBA Diving in Delaware?

Delaware is home to many military and civilian ship wrecks as well as many artificial reef site. Each site is blooming with various species of life and growth formations. On any dive you may run across Flounder, Sea Bass, Tautog (aka Black Fish), Striped Bass, Spade Fish, Sheepshead, Sea Trout, Seahorses, Stargazers, Pufferfish, Amberjack, Black Drum, Colorful Butterfly Fish, Atlantic Triggerfish, Northern (Clawed) Lobster, Dolphin, Sea Turtles, Leatherback Turtles, Whales, Rays, Sharks and you can even find lost antique artifacts.

Visibility

The visibility off the coast of Delaware can vary from excellent to low, at ranges from 100 ft to 4 ft or less. The visibility has many factors including weather, currents and time of year. We use a network of granny lines for your descend and ascend to ensure no matter what the visibly is, you will have a safe and enjoyable dive adventure.

Dive the USS Arthur W. Radford

The 564ft Navy Destroyer - USS Arthur W. Radford! The USS Arthur Radford is the largest artificial reef on the east coast.

This wreck is an exciting addition to the local and national dive industry. This wreck sits in approximately 140 feet of water with the top deck of the ship around 70 feet deep allowing for the whole range of divers from recreational to the technical diver.

USS Arthur W. Radford (DD-968) was a Spruance-class destroyer in the United States Navy. She was named for Admiral Arthur W. Radford USN (1896–1973), the first naval officer to hold the title of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. She was laid down by the Ingalls Shipbuilding Division of Litton Industries at Pascagoula, Mississippi and launched on 21 March 1975, sponsored by Mrs. Arthur W. Radford, the widow of the late admiral. She commissioned on 16 April 1977 and decommissioned on 18 March 2003, after serving 26 years.
